Uig Community Centre Association SCIO

Uig Community Centre Association (UCCA) is a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation (SCIO) registered with the Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator (OSCR).

The organisation is governed by a voluntary board of trustees drawn from the local community. Trustees are responsible for the overall management, governance, and long-term sustainability of the charity.

Our Role

The trustees oversee:

  • Financial management and budgeting
  • Strategic planning and development
  • Maintenance and operation of the community centre
  • Employment and staffing matters
  • Community engagement and events
  • Compliance with charity and health & safety regulations

The board works alongside staff, volunteers, and local partners to ensure the centre remains a sustainable and welcoming facility for the wider community.

Constitution

Uig Community Centre Association operates in accordance with its charitable constitution, which sets out the organisation’s purposes, governance arrangements, and responsibilities of trustees.

Board of Trustees

Uig Community Centre Association is managed by a voluntary board of trustees drawn from the local community.

The current office bearers are:

  • Chair
  • Secretary
  • Treasurer

The board also includes additional volunteer trustees who contribute to the governance, operation, and development of the community centre.

Trustees are responsible for ensuring the charity operates in line with its charitable purposes, constitution, and legal obligations.

Day-to-day operations of the centre are managed by staff and volunteers under the oversight of the trustees.

Meetings

Trustees meet regularly throughout the year to discuss operational matters, finances, projects, fundraising, and future development of the centre.

Minutes of meetings are available on request where appropriate.
